Wearable device is a very popular topic at present in engineering field,particularly for virtual reality and augmented reality wearable devices.However types of wearable devices for text input function,especially for Chinese characters,are not that much for those devices which have no real touch screen.Comparing with the wearable devices which provide text input function at home and abroad,an original designed device called “typering” for wearable virtual keyboard on the finger is proposed,providing a feasible solution for Chinese characters input.Using an innovative mapping and control principle called “nine-eighteen blocks”,combined with common squared input method,the traditional squared input method can be transferred to the fingers without designing a new one,this makes the text input function without a real touch screen become reality and provide a new text input method for wearable computing devices.Technical route analysis,hardware design,software design,module design,overall design and tests for prototype have been done in this paper.After four times of evolutions,a most minimum viable product have finished in the end and system test shows that the mapping and control principle does work.
