At present,with the rapid development of computer graphics and the substantial improvement of computer performance,3D model has become an important multimedia data type,widely used in virtual reality,game animation,production and other fields.At the same time,the high degree of detail of the model and the demand for the realistic image also bring great pressure to the storage,rendering,transmission and editing of the computer.It is an effective way to simplify 3D models and generate multi-level detail models.The purpose of 3D model simplification is to use simple model to replace complex original model,to realize the autonomous control of scene complexity,speed up graphics rendering speed,and ensure the important structure of the model at the same time.After a comprehensive analysis of the existing model simplification techniques,a simplification algorithm of detail feature retention and texture consideration is proposed based on the mesh simplification algorithm of quadratic error measurement.The preserving and simplifying algorithm based on detail features aims to solve the problem that details are easy to be lost in the process of model simplification.The plane detection of grid is carried out through regional iteration,sensitive and non-sensitive structures are distinguished,different weighted values are given in the edge folding cost,and the edge folding cost is redesigned by calculating the sharpness factor of grid.At the same time,the detail preserving algorithm also takes into account the influence of the local triangle regularity degree on the mesh quality,and combines Voronoi polygon to optimize the local mesh on the basis of sharpness detection.Simplified algorithm based on texture information considerations,the purpose is to generate a better texture map grid model making more reasonable,each grid corresponding texture fragments obtained by using markov random field,and calculate its texture area and RGB difference to generate texture edge endpoint error,combined with the geometrical error of edge collapse global error,as the price for mesh simplification.Experimental results shows that the simplified algorithm based on detail feature retention can simplify the plane to a greater extent,highlight details and sensitive structures,and the simplified algorithm based on texture information retention can get better texture visual effect after texture mapping.
