The Research On Simplification Of Vector Graph Mesh Model And Level Of Detail

Vector graph mesh model is a basic representation type of a body, particularly it is the most effective presentation method to representation complex body with curve and surface .when we use vector graph mesh model to describe complex body ,it often uses thousands and thousands triangles to depict the complex detail ,so enormous model occurred. Because drawing time and memory quantity is direct ratio to the number of triangle , enormous model requires high request to the capability and processing velocity of the computer . In order to satisfy the request of analysis, display, and memory of the computer ,this type of model must be simplified .Model simplification has a broad foreground in computer animation ,virtual reality and mutual watching etc. Owe to its massive data quantity, it is not facility to memory, edit ,display ,and transmission, if the mesh model is not dealed with its data quantity. So it is necessary to research dealing with mesh model data. In current third dimension graph study, It often need complex three dimension scene to draw the model, but it is difficult to draw the complex scene with real-time and third dimension .So in order to improve drawing velocity , a natural method is to reduce the scene complexity.The author has studied current several methods of mesh simplification and put forward a reversible progressive mesh based on LOD model through using the mesh simplification method which joined edge collapse and quadric error metrics .The author uses SOCKET programming method to realize the data to transmission through internet, and puts forward using progressive mesh of simplification to transmit in order to recreate LOD model using progressive mesh which is get from internet in client .In mesh simplification and mesh transmission the paper puts forward new arithmetic ,and writes relevant software ,analyses some instances to prove its efficiency.
