Smart home is an important application scenario for the Internet of Things(IoT).With the era of IoT and edge intelligence approaching,a large number of home devices are gradually connecting to the network,which is essential to achieve the "Internet of Everything".However,the Wireless Smart-home Sensor Network technology hasn't led to a unified standard.There are serious interoperability problems among products with different technologies,which restricts the development and promotion of smart home.In 2015,the Thread Group developed the Thread specification for home networking.Thread has a good prospect because of its great advantages in Mesh networking,all-IP,and no single point of failure,etc.It has promising potential to become a strong driving force in the development of smart home,and promote the unification of fragmented home networking technologies.With the background of application requirements and key technologies of Wireless Smart-home Sensor Network,in this thesis,a Wireless Smart-home Sensor Network system based on Thread protocol is designed and implemented,which provides an all-IP network solution for home networking.The designed Thread network system,including the hardware and software design of network nodes and Border Router,is based on ARM Mbed OS and Google OpenThread stack.ARM Mbed OS is an embedded Real-time Operating System(RTOS)with great cross-platform features and OpenThread stack is an open-source implementation of Thread specification.Then the Thread network is further expanded.An allIP heterogeneous network design including Thread,Wi-Fi and Ethernet is proposed to meet the complex and diverse networking requirements of home devices.To apply the proposed Thread network solution above into a practical scenario,a family infant care system is designed and implemented.The infant care system is centered with service robot and contains several sensor nodes such as smart wear and environment awareness devices.They can communicate and share information through Thread network,and cooperate to realize the system functions including health monitoring,sleep monitoring,video monitoring,etc.In order to achieve remote interaction with the system,a Freeboard-based Web UI and an Android-based smartphone App are also developed.This thesis verified the availability and characteristics of the Thread-based Wireless Smart-home Sensor Network system,through experiments on networking,single point failure,network performance of the proposed Thread network system,communication experiment of the all-IP heterogeneous network,and functional tests of the family infant care system.
