Along with the continuous development of the telecommunication service and the competition of the telecommunication market,the existing copper cable can not adapt to the rapid transmission requirements.For the operator,carrying out 'replacement of copper cables with optical fiber cables',laying of the optical fiber network,implementing the network and broadband transformation,and enhancing the ability of the network support is an important means to enhance the competitiveness of the telecommunications industry.Because of the concise,inexpensive and reliable,and also the features of high broadband,passive optical network is the realible optical fiber network construction.In the access layer,in all aspects,PON is superior to the traditional access method.It has developed two standard camps,EPON and GPON.According to their own technical characteristics,they have played a different role in the actual application.EPON and GPON have become the standard of the PON technology from the aspect of equipment function characteristics,mutual penetration,chain industry development and the cost control.However,the development and innovation of internet technology promoting the IPTV,high-definition TV,3D TV,mobile multimedia and other emerging internet business,which resulte in a rapid increase of information transmission bandwidth demand.Nowadays,the second generation of 10 G EPON and 10 G GPON technologies gradually catch lapel see elbow.Therefore,in the face of continued growth of broadband network needs,based on long-term development,the research for the next generation of passive optical network is so impotrant.The thesis briefly introduced the PON system from 1G PON to NG-PON relating to the technology evolution,ilustrated the system structure and the standard of NG-PON network scheme based on TWDM-PON technology and take the intelligent ODN as the representative to explain the development of intelligent equipment.These theories are solved under the guidance of the development of ideas.Through cost analysis,the feasibility of NG-PON in the future is analyzed.Finally,the paper summarizes the development of passive optical access network in the future.
