Video monitoring is one of the most popular applied technology in the field of information,it has been widely paid attention to by the characteristics of intuitive,convenient and abundant content.With the rapid development of embedded technology,video processing technology and network transmission technology,Video monitor system is developing towards digital,network and integrated embedded video monitor.Compared with the traditional video monitoring system,it has the advantages of small size,high flexibility,high reliability,convenient networking and remote monitoring.This thesis based on the Linux + ARM embedded platform designs and develops a real-time remote video monitoring system,the users can watch the image collected by the front-end camera through the remote host and mobile phone,while the video motion target detection algorithm was studied and the monitoring Automatic shooting and saving of moving objects in the area are achieved.The design of system is divided into two parts: hardware and software.Hardware part of the system'processor is ARM9,the processor externally connects USB camera,wifi wireless card and other peripherals.The software part of the design of the system bootloader program,Linux kernel and file system were designed and compiled,and the device driver program are researched and developed firstly,and then using the V4L2 interface to achieve the video data acquisition,compressing date according to the JPEG standard data,achieving the detection of moving objects by use of frame difference method,achieving network transmission by use of socket,When the MJPG-streamer streaming media video server,which is ported to the system,receives the request from the remote client,it will transmit the data collected by the camera to the client through the network under the TCP protocol.This thesis realizes the basic function of video image acquisition,transmission,display and save,the most modules are realized by using Linux C programming,this thesis basically reaches the expected goal through the test of the system,The analysis indicates the system has practical engineering value.
