In recent years,Video Supervise has been used extensively in every field,and becomes the popular direction of the domain.But most of the current video monitoring systems base on the the PC,and have many disadvantages like too big,not very efficient and so on.With the rapid development of network communication technology,multimedia technology,computer network technology,embeded system technology and the breakthrough of image compress; great changes of vedio monitoring technology are taking place in recent years. It present a new trend in embedded video f ield that is networking,digitalization and downsizing,Aiming to meet this new trend,a MPEG4 embedded network video terminal and server based on S3C2410 and Linux is introduced in this paper.This paper defines a video supervisory system based on theARM&Linux. Aiming at the existent problems of the video supervisory system, we first put forward a new design program, and then design and realize a stable and reliable system of vedio monitoring.As there are some deficiencies in all existent vedio monitoring system, we first provide a new video supervisory method in this paper. In this new scheme, we choose the ARM&Linux as our architecture of the system, and an embedded Web server is put in the server of the video. An embedded real-time multi-task operating system runs in the Web server, the digital video signal that from the camera is compressed by the high-efficient compress chip, then the compressed signals is translated to built-in Web server through the internal bus. Users can watch the camera picture from the Web server with the browser directly on the network, because of compressing the video and Web function is integrated in a piece of apparatus of very small volume; so is convenient to be practical.Secondly, we make the choice of the instruments of the system which described above,and have a good knowledge of the choosed instruments.then we design the handware interface of the modules of the system.Finally, we migrate the Linux operate system.then have a good reaserch of Linux driver and design the drivers of modules like vedio compress module and ethernet module,and have a test of system.
