The Research Of In-depth Commentary In The Era Of Shallow Reading

In the Internet era,the complexity of social life has greatly increased,posing a serious challenge to the public's cognitive ability.The environment of "information explosion" and the fast pace of modern life make readers have no time or patience,they are gradually used to superficial and fragmented reading.Many comments appeal to its own taste,evoking the readers with a variety of soups and anxieties,leading to some extreme and one-sided judgments.In this case,those in-depth commentaries are valuable.This article takes Tencent's "InTouch Today" as a case study object.The purpose is to discuss the survival status and development prospects of those in-depth commentaries,so as to provide suggestions for the current practice of news commentary.The investigation found that there are some changes in the content production and column setting of "InTouch Today":In 2016,invited authors were introduced to the production of in-depth commentary,which changed the situation that all articles were written by the editorial department.Moreover,the proportion of invited comment articles in all articles was increasing,the writing subjects tended to be open and diversified.The "Short history" and the "Fact Check" were opened up to build a diversified column matrix of "InTouch Today".In early 2019,the "Flip" small program,which featured light reading,was added as a supplement to the in-depth commentary.The interactive columns such as "Reader's Letter","Rose Live" and"Dissident Opinions" were cancelled.There is a tendency to narrow the way for readers to interact.The statistical analysis method was used to analyze the reading amount,the number of comments,the number of votes "InTouch Today".The research found that the reading amount of WeChat official account of "InTouch Today" showed an increasing trend,but the number of user interaction showed a decreasing trend.On the basis of data analysis,this paper further analyzes the survival and development logic of in-depth commentary such as "InTouch Today" in the era of shallow reading from the perspectives of society,media and readers.From the perspective of society,the problems faced by China during the transition period are complex.The "shallow" level of things cannot solve the "deep" level of social problems.The interpretation and rational thinking of in-depth commentaries on social issues are in line with the needs of social development.From the perspective of the media,the media shoulders social responsibilities while pursuing commercial interests.The development of in-depth commentary has formed a differentiated competitive advantage,which is conducive to shaping media brands,improving the influence and credibility of the media,benefiting positive feedback to economic effect,realizing the media's dual pursuit of commercial goal and social responsibility.From the perspective of readers,the "information explosion" of the Internet has aggravated people's knowledge anxiety.In the era of news overload,the in-depth commentary on knowledge-based content is still a scarce resource.People need to use in-depth commentary to recognize the society and to relieve anxiety.Finally,this paper makes predictions and reflections on the development prospects of in-depth commentaries.The in-depth commentaries such as "InTouch Today" are in good living condition and tend to increase gradually.In the post-truth communication context of "points prior to facts" and "emotions greater than reason",more in-depth commentaries are needed to convey the voice of independent thinking to construct a rational public discussion environment.
