Research On The Development Of Volunteer Service In Provincial Comprehensive Archives

As a new mode of human resources development and utilization,voluntary service is not only an important way for the public to participate in social affairs,promote social progress and realize personal value,but also an important force to alleviate the contradiction in archives where few people are responsible for much work,which promote the construction and development of archives in China.Besides,voluntary service in archives is an extension and enrichment of voluntary service in the field of archives.With the acceleration of opening and utilizing archives and the enhancement of public awareness of archives utilization,the role of archives work in various social undertakings has become increasingly prominent.In addition to basic archives collection,collation and inquiry,comprehensive archives in the new era also emphasize public service capabilities such as social education,cultural propaganda,development and utilization of public digital resources,and the service content and functions of the integrated archives tend to be diversified.In recent years,under the background of national policy guidance,archives spontaneous development and public participation,archives voluntary service in China's comprehensive archives has experienced a stage of development from scratch,theory and practice,which has made some achievements.However,there are also many problems,such as inadequate awareness of archives voluntary service by librarians,single recruitment channels and activities with single form and poor continuity,so the voluntary service of archives in comprehensive archives in China needs to be further improved.Firstly,this paper identifies the definition,content,characteristics and development process of archival volunteer service,and analyses the necessity and feasibility of developing archival volunteer service in provincial comprehensive archives in many aspects.Secondly,taking the development status of archival volunteer service in 31 provincial comprehensive archives in China as the research object,the research adopts the methods of network survey and telephone interview,which contributes to the development of archives volunteer service in China's comprehensive archives as a whole.Finally,it puts forward the development countermeasures of archives volunteer service in China's comprehensive archives from the aspects of changing and improving the consciousness of archives volunteer service,broadening recruitment channels,improving management system and establishing longterm mechanism,so as to promote the normal and orderly development of archives volunteer service in China.
