A Study Of Female Discourses In New Women Magazine

This paper mainly uses the magazine texts of New Women as the main reference materials,using the relevant theoretical knowledge of gender,discourse theory,feminism,content analysis,statistical analysis and other research methods,in order to study the female discourses of New Women magazine from Volume 1 in 1926 to Volume 4 in1929.In the first chapter,starting from the general situation of New Women,it mainly introduces the social context of New Women and the process of its publication and development.In order to have a comprehensive understanding and grasp of the background of the times and the birth environment of New Women,this paper not only introduces the international and domestic social context at that time,but also gives a detailed introduction to the women's periodicals of the same period,and analyses the unique features of New Women in many women's periodicals.Then,it summarizes and understands the reasons,the main body of discourse and the purpose of New Women in an all-round way.The second chapter mainly uses the method of data analysis to make a comprehensive analysis of the female discourses in New Women.Based on the concept of "female discourse" and the data of modern periodicals recorded in the national newspaper index,this paper analyses the situation of female discourses in New Women magazine from two aspects: the overall characteristics of the sample and the construction of the topic of the sample women,according to the surface feature dimension and the content feature dimension.Chapter three uses the method of text analysis to explore the ideas and consciousness of women about women's liberation and development conveyed by New Women magazine,including the controversy of women's liberation,women's occupation and women's education.This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the female discourses and female consciousness in New Women magazine from two aspects: female's discourse in different columns and different types of female's discourses.The last chapter mainly summarizes the creation of the new female images in New Women and its concern for women's growth,and interprets the social significance ofNew Women's insistence on women's presence and the construction and development of women's discourses.To sort out female's discourses and communication concept of women's liberation and development in the Republic of China is not only a response to the history of women's development,but also a deep concern for women's future development,which has very important historical and practical significance.
