Country image has been regarded as the source of competitiveness of a country in the age of globalization.In the international arena,the image of a country plays a vital role.It not only reflects the comprehensive strength of the country,but also reflects the countries influence in politics,diplomacy,military affairs and society.In addition,it determines the views and attitudes of competitors or neighboring countries.Through social media usage people may gradually become more knowledgeable about things through exposure to new information.Therefore,social media has become an indispensable platform where users can acquire information on all aspects about a country including its economy,culture,politics,etc.In other words,with the increasing social media usage level or the crucial roles social media play,people are more exposed to the information of all aspects of other countries?Based on the national image and social media theory and existing research foundation,this study combs the concept of national image and social media to propose the application of social media use in forming the national image and proposes the influence of Russian national image in China.In order to understand and explore the important factors affecting the image recognition of Russia in China,this study uses quantitative research methods to analyze the image perception of Russia in China from the perspective of social media usage,and thus to examine what impact the utilization of social media has on the image of Russia,and tlhe relationship between social media usage and Russia's image in China.In addition,this research also tries to analyze the impact of age factor in the perception of Russia's image among Chinese people.The results show that the image of Russia among Chinese people is mostly positive;Chinese social media usage significantly influences Russia's image cognition.The results also confirm that the age factor has a regulatory effect on the relationship between social media usage and Russia's image cognition.Ultimately,based on national image and social media theory,this paper will discuss the research findings and interprets all positive and negative evaluations and misreading between Chinese people social media usage and Russian image perceptions.
