The hybrid Wireless Mesh Network(WMN)is one of the key networking technologies for the future development of wireless networks because of its perfect structure,rich functions and strong compatibility.With the continuous development of network technology,mobility management in hybrid WMN has been a huge challenge for wireless network research.The routing protocol in hybrid WMN determines the route of data forwarding between the source node and the destination node,and also has the mobility management function of the node.The mobility of node affects the performance of the network.Therefore,it is of great research value to design a mobility management scheme based on routing protocol in hybrid WMN.For hybrid WMN,how to provide seamless connection service with low latency and high reliability for high-speed mobile Mesh clients,and how to provide mobility management solutions for their network structure characteristics are particularly urgent.There are few studies on mobility management in hybrid WMN,especially on the HWMP(Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol)routing protocol based on the IEEE 802.11 s standard.HWMP is a routing protocol designed for the structural characteristics of hybrid WMN.It combines the flexibility of reactive routing mode and the rapidity of proactive routing mode in traditional WMN.It can switch mobile nodes quickly and effectively in the network.Therefore,for the mobility management of hybrid WMN,it is very effective to design a mobility management scheme based on HWMP routing protocol to improve the performance of hybrid WMN.This paper proposes an improved mobility management scheme called AHWMP(Advanced HWMP)for the existing hybrid WMN with high mobility management cost.This scheme optimizes the mechanism of inter-domain mobility management of new nodes in HWMP protocol,and proposes a new routing update algorithm for new nodes in proactive routing mode of HWMP.It restricts the sending and receiving of routing management data packets,reduces the number of routing update data packets in the whole network,and then reduces the congestion probability of network in mobility management,and improves the performance of network.The simulation results of MATLAB and NS-3 show that the AHWMP scheme can significantly improve the network throughput,end-to-end delay,handover overhead and other performance.In order to solve the problem that the mobility of nodes in hybrid WMN results in large energy consumption,this paper proposes a low-energy mobility management scheme called EE-AHWMP(Energy Efficient AHWMP).In this scheme,the threshold of residual energy is obtained by considering the location information of mobile nodes.Then a low-energy mobility management algorithm is designed based on the AHWMP scheme,considering the residual energy of nodes in the energy consumption model,the communication status of nodes and the mobility management process of nodes.This algorithm improves the state transition mechanism of mobile nodes,controls the number of active state nodes in the process of inter-domain mobility management,and reduces the energy consumed by the active state of the Mesh clients.The simulation results of MATLAB and NS-3 show that the EE-AHWMP scheme effectively improves the network performance such as average throughput and prolongs the network lifetime.
