Compact antenna test range (CATR) is very important in the field of antenna testing, which offers effective ways for high frequency antenna testing, such as THz antenna. In recent years, with the widespread application of high frequency antenna, CATR technology has gradually got matured. Based on the single reflector and the double reflector CATR, the tri-reflector CATR consists of a feed horn, a spherical main reflector and two shaped reflectors, which can obtain higher quiet zone usage, better control the beam shape and low cost.According to the theory of conservation of energy, geometrical optics and dynamic tracking, the paper describes the design of tri-reflector CATR in detail. After the tri-reflector CATR, the system should generate pseudo plane wave.To verify the design method, Cassegrain-Gregorian tri-reflector CATR is simulated and analyzed. We emphasize on its output field and quiet zone. Based on this, we design Dual-Gregorian tri-reflector CATR. In the paper, it’s simulated and analyzed. And then we analyze the impact of size and radius of main reflector, size of sub-reflectors, and distance between reflectors.
