Reading is an everlasting topic.The cultural construction of a country is based on nationwide reading.Reading in ancient and modern times makes countless contributions to human progress.In January 1934,the Government of the Republic of China launched the new life movement with the purpose of transforming national people from basic necessities of life.Cultural construction is also the important part in the new life movement.The national government successively launched the cultural construction movement of China and constructed the Reading Competition Association.In order to greatly promote the great development of Reading Competition Association,Chinese Cultural Construction Association launched the “National Reading Movement” under the support of the national government.The reading movement planned to develop from April 8 1935 to April 20 1935,but actually,this reading movement gradually faded away in the end of 1936.The graduation design of the author was a simulation book with the name of the Document Assembly of the Reading Movement in the 1930 s.The difficulty got involved in the housekeeping of documents.The manuscript collection and sorting of this book contained three aspects,including collection of manuscript data,compilation proofreading of manuscripts,and compilation of manuscrip ts.In the process of collecting manuscripts,in order to ensure completeness of data,the author used multiple searching methods and previewed relevant periodicals to avoid leakage of articles.The compilation and proofreading work of the book was completed by the author independently.The content compilation was based on the timeline of publication.In the graduation design,the author was based on the overall process of book publication to describe the planning of this book from topic planning,book design and publication marketing.On the one hand,this book is a compilation data reference.On the other hand,it is the topic with the special background of the era.Therefore,in the process of overall design for publications,the author fully considered these features by applying the binding and typesetting style of books in Republic of China and adding the simple and decent sense of beauty of modern publications.These details could be reflected in the cover design and text typesetting of the book.The benefits of publication not only refer to economic benefits,but also contain the social benefits,because publications undertake the mission of cultural heritance and innovation.By making a comparison with the literature bestsellers in the available market,the value of this book is mainly reflected in the social benefits,instead of economic benefits.To study the history enables us to improve ourselves based on the history.The data included in this book could completely reveal the developmental history of the reading movement.It greatly established the cultural bridge of the special era for readers and showed the enlightenment significance on contemporary readers.
