Detecting the position of the target is to get the distance and angular information of the detected target,radar is a tool most commonly used to detect the spatial location of the target.With the development of science and technology,the accuracy,size,power consumption and other requirements are also increasing for angular and distance measuring radar in many areas.Low-power,high-precision radar has become a hot topic of research.Under this application background,a radar system which has the characteristics of miniaturized,zero intermediate frequency and FMCW is designed for angular measuring and ranging in this paper.Under the guidance of the theory in the radar systems,researches on the principle and methods of the transceiver front-end of FMCW radar have been made.According to the design requirements,details on the technical target have been carefully considered.It`s whole scheme have been made.Receivers,transmitters,and IF sampling module have been designed and fabricated.The debugging and testing work of the IF sampling module and radar front-end system have been completed.The main works are as follows: 1.Several angular and distance measuring systems are analyzed in this paper,and their advantages and disadvantages are compared.Based on the comparison results and actual engineering needs,the basic schemes and working parameters of angular and distance measuring system are determined,and FMCW radar is chosen as the system scheme.2.The work principle of FMCW radar is analyzed,and the principle of the system are deduced and demonstrated in theory,and the overall framework of the system is given.According to the relationship between frequency and time after frequency modulation,the system realizes the distance measurement.The Doppler shift of the echo signal of the moving target to realize the velocity measurement.And the multi receiving antenna phase method is utilized to realize the angular measurement.The entire system is also verified and the system indexes and parameters are given in this paper.3.The radar system's transceiver link is designed based on the main system indicators in this paper,analyzes the index and parameters of each module,chooses the appropriate chip and circuit,complete the design of the transmit and receive links and IF sampling module referring to each device manual and basic circuit guidelines.The radar system has two transmitting links and eight receiving links,it adopts the independent transmitting and receiving antenna to transmit and receive at the same time.4.On the basis of above design,the hardware has been assembled and basic tests of the radar are completed.The performance of the IF sampling module and the performance of the whole system include ranging and angulation are tested,and the test and analysis results are given.The test results show that the aim of ranging and velocity measurement and angulation have been basically achieved in the system,and the system features like miniaturization,easy operation and high stability have been improved.
