Media reporting is the process of recreating objective reality.The accuracy of the symbolic reality of media construction largely determines the public's understanding of objective reality.The essence of feminism is the pursuit of equality between men and women.The public's correct understanding of feminism helps fight for women's rights and achieve women's goals.As a foreign vocabulary,"feminism" shows what kind of media image it is in the process of the popularization of the media?This article uses content analysis and text analysis methods to analyze the construction and presentation of two different types of network media in China——People's Daily Online and Sina.com on women's rights and related issues from 2013 to 2017.The study found that network media represented by the People's Daily Online and Sina.com had a positive structure of feminism.Its reporting position has not changed significantly in five years.Feminism is mainly presented on the Internet as Women's rights spokesperson,demonized image,victim image,and vanguard personality image.Through the analysis of the media image of feminism,it is found that network media exist some problem in shaping the feminist image:linking feminism with negative labels,neglecting to pay attention to the goals of women rights,failing to properly discuss and clarifying the correct connotation of feminism,the report focuses on the international.In response to the current problems in shaping the image of women's rights in the online media,three suggestions are made:First,the issue of balanced coverage of women's rights issues and highlighting of key issues;Second,improve gender awareness and gender sensitivity of media practitioners;And reporting skills to avoid tagging women's rights.
