Research On The Propaganda Strategies Of CBI Theater Reported By Xinhua Daily

The Asian region of the Second World War was composed by the Chinese battlefield and Pacific battlefield and an international Theater called CBI Theater,was formed in the intersection of these two battlefields between China(Western Yunan),Burma and India.The Chinese Expeditionary Force marched towards Burma in1942.The continuous assistance from United States to Chine made the War of Resistance Against Japan Aggression associated with The World Anti-Fascist War.The Communist Party first authority newspaper �Xinhua daily�has been tracking the reports on this Theater for 6 years.These reports recorded the protection and development of CBI Theater aid channels and the campaign processes in various battlefields,which preserve a great amount of historical information.More importantly,the reports about the CBI theaters issued by Xinhua Daily were different to what are released by the Kuomintang,which conveyed the people's thought and perseverance of fighting to the distant battlefields.This article is based on the 871 reports of CBI theaters issued by Xinhua Daily from1939 to 1945.According to the text analysis and data statistics of the research,we will solve the following two problems.On which direction the reports of CBI theaters released by Xinhua Daily focus,and Which kinds of propaganda strategy Xinhua Daily used in the reports for the people living in the Allies and in the Kuomintang's areaThe specific research strategies are as follows:In the first part,we mainly discuss the background of the formation of CBI Theater.Under the constant development of Japan's Great East Asian co-Prosperity Circle Policy,Japan began to invade Southeast Asian countries and tried to cut off the China's aid channels.In order to defend the link road between Yunan and Myanmar,Chiang Kai-shek appointed Du Jumming as deputy Commander and assigned Joseph Stilwell as the CBI Theater Chief of Staff to command Chinese Expeditionary Force about hundredthousand people to march towards Myanmar.Since then,the CBI Theater has formally formed.It also describes the development of Xinhua Daily in response to the United Front's calls and reports of the CBI Theater.In the second part,according to the different news issues,the research objet are divided into the protection and development of China's Aid Channels,the war reports about the military fields and other news reports.This part discusses the specific contents of the reports on CBI Theater issued by Xinhua Daily and the focus points of the reports in various sections.In the third part,it mainly discusses the propaganda strategies of CBI Theater reported by Xinhua DailyIt basically analyzes from the domestic propaganda strategies and propaganda strategies with the Allies.Xinhua Daily adopted different propaganda strategies for the people the people living in the Allies and in the Kuomintang's area in different times.On the basis of spreading the Communist thought,Xinhua Daily actively supported the United Front and made positive contributions to the victory of the war.In the fourth part,on the basis of the text analysis of the CBI Theater issued by Xinhua Daily and the conclusion of the propaganda strategies,it evaluates the reports of the CBI Theater released by Xinhua Daily.It discusses from two aspects of the historical contribution and the limitation.
