The frequency selective surface(FSS)is a two-diensional periodie arry structure.Because it can produce different reflection or transmission effects on different electromagnetic waves,it is widely used in the ficle of imcmwave antenna.Loading FSS is one of the main methods to improve teh overall performance of the antenna.This paper starts from theperspective of application of FSS,conducts a comprchensive research and analysis on the band stop FSS,designs a new FSS unit structure,and uses the method of loading FSS to improve theSII parameters of the microstrip conformal antenna and widen the bandwidth of the band,at the same time,the back radiation of the antenna is reduced and the forward radiation is added toimprove the gain of the antenna.the main resarch contents include the following points:First,two different microstripo conformal antennas are designed,the square ultra wideband(UWB)antenna and the round UWB antenna,After simulation and optimization,the 10dB impcdaNce bundwidth covers UWB frequency band,ie,3.1 to 10.6GHz,with omnidirectional rudiation characteristics.The antenna is conformal on different curvature cylindcrs shows good adaptability.Through the processing and testing of real objects,the correctness of the design and the feasibility of practical application are verifide.Second,on the basis of the traditional FSS unit structure,two different types of novel UWB miniaturized FSS unit structures are designed,namely,"arre-shaped" FSS and"window-shaped" FSS unit structures.After simulation and optimization and optimization,the FSS sstructure has good stopband characteristics in the frequencyband of 2.5 to 11.5 GHz and cancover the UWB frequency band.Through simulations under different incident angles and polarization modes,FSS can exhibit stable broadband and stopband characteristices under both TE and TM polarizations,with good polarization stability and angular stability.Thirdly,the novel FSS is loaded on square and round UWB antennas,which can improve the S11 parameters of the antenna,reduce the backward radiation of the antenna,increase the forward radiation,and effectively improve the antenna gain,maximize the 7dB.Meanwhile,the size of novel FSS structure can be effectively reduced.Through the processing and testing of real objects,the correctness of the design and the feasibility of practical application are verified.
