Wireless communication system is inseparable from the antenna, whose quality is closely connected with antenna.So as an important communication device, antenna are concerned by more and more researchers.The rapid development of wireless communication, especially the arrival of 3G era in recent years, has the requirements of miniaturization, broad-band, multi-band on the antenna. Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) composed by radiation patch, metal floor, the feed system and shorting patch, which has a lot of advantages,such as small size, light weight, compact structure, easy to produce, low cost, easy integrated in microwave circuits etc., to be widely used in the field of wireless communications. This paper mainly reseach about the miniaturization wide-band technology of PIFA antenna, at the same time proposed and analyzed two PIFA antenna structure which has the feacher of miniaturization.At last, the two antennas’performance is discussed by an electromagnetic simulation software. The main work and innovation of this thesis can be summarized as follows:(l)The present research situation of PIFA antenna has been introduced.And than,I analyzed the basic electrical parameters and analytical methods of PIFA in detail. As well as make an emphasis on the miniaturization, wid-band as well as multi-band technology of the PIFA.(2)A PIFA which applicable to nine kinds of the wireless communication system is proposed, the patch size of which is 19mm×26mm. the purpose of achieving small size and broadband is realized by adjusting the shorting position and the slot on the floor. We get the Return Loss, VSWR, radiation pattern, the current distribution and other characteristics of the antenna by electromagnetic simulation software HFSS From the simulation result, we can see the PIFA antenna is capable of mobile terminal applications.(3) A dual-band WLAN PIFA antenna has been improved, whose size is 11.5% less than the original one. By adjusting the Shorting chip structure of the PIFA antenna, we got the purpose of the miniaturization. At the same time,from the return loss characteristic curve we can see that the antenna has a good impedance matching. As is shown of the results of simulation analysis, this antenna has a good working features with good omnidirectional.From the analysis results,we can see that the proposed two antennas has a good performance, which can be applied to the mobile communication terminal theoretically.
