With the explosive growth of data business and the develop of IP,the traditional Synchronous Digital Hierarchy(SDH)technology has been unable to adapt to the needs of business packet transmission.So,the Packet Transport Network(PTN)technology emerged,it is in the core of the IP packet switching.PTN technology do well in unified whole network traffic transmission and network integration.It provides a sensitive,efficient and low cost packet transport platform.With the constantly updating of the network equipment and the explosive growth of data service,Mobile backhaul put forward higher requirements for the protection of PTN technology to ensure the reliable transmission of high-quality business.Therefore,the study of the protection mechanism of PTN has a very important significance.Taking the NMS(Network Management System)for PTN,which is developed by a school-enterprise cooperation unit as the background,I have made a detailed analysis of the protection techniques for the system in this paper.PTN protection technology plays a vital role in ensuring the normal transmission of the entire network traffic,so we must configure the perfect protection function in the network management system.Existing protection mechanisms for NMS is to protect the network side and the AC side of the link protection.But,when there is a failure of the equipment which is in the core layer of the PTN Network,the whole network will be interrupted,as a resualt,the transmission of all of the data service will be interrupted too.So,we propose a new protection mechanism named dual-homing protection to ensure the transmission of the data service.In this paper,I designed a high reliability of dual-homing protection mechanism in the network management system,so that the user can manage the dual-homing protection to provide a reliable network transmission.In this paper,combined with the PTN equipment developed by the company I practised in,I did a detailed analysis about the principles,troubleshooting,and configuration mechanism of the dual-homing protection.According to the hierarchy of the NMS,in the paper,I have give the whole design of the dual-homing protection mechanisms,including data structures design and Hierarchy design.According to the design,I completed the code of the presentation layer,themiddle layer and the SBI layer.Furthermore,in order to achieve the intelligent management of the dual-homing,I add a reverse search function for the dual homing protection services.It can calculates the existing business inversely according to the actual information configurated in the equipment.In the reverse search,I gave a detailed description of the algorithm.In order to improve the efficiency of the reverse search,I made an improvement in the algorithm and the path where to get the data.Finally,I did a test of dual-homing modules in the system,the test results showed that the dual-homing protection can guarantee the normal transmission services even there is a failure at the edge node equipment,and effectively reduced the probability of transmission interruption of the data service.In addition,through a reverse search function,it is possible to identify the existing business which had been configurated in the equipment.It also gives the topology display of the business in NMS,so the user can monitor and manager the business easily.By comparing the time cost for reverse search between the method of before and the method after improved,it indicated that the improved method can gives a higher efficiency research then before.Moreover,the system has been released and used in China Mobile Communications Corporation and Taiwan Chunghwa Telecom company.
