Accelerated by the development of the softswitch technology, the IP network and the legacy telecom network is inosculating and evolving into NGN based on packets switching step by step. It is a general trend for a great capacity softswitch system to support the distributed multi-processor system. For the sake of security and stability of a great capacity softswitch system as an exercisable system, how to solve current security problems in softswitch network becomes the pivotal problem.This paper starts with the background and development of NGN, and then introduces system architecture of softswitch, which is the key technology of NGN. After that, the framework of the distributed softswitch system is analyzed embedded, the function of each module is enumerated, and the architecture of the software and hardware is described. What's more, this paper expatiates on the improvement of the distributed softswitch system from the old single-processor softswitch system and represents the harmonious working of the distributed softswitch system.This paper introduces the concept of Dual-homing and its basic working principles, and, analyzed the main technical points of implementing the Dual-homing in the softswitch System. For resolving the switch and switch-back mechanism of the Dual-homing gateway and terminal, the working states of the Dual-homing softswitch system is partitioned. The working states are particularly explained. The movement of all the states is researched.The author, in light of the practice of the distributed softswitch system, studies the modeling technology, design and implementation of the Dual-homing technology in the distributed softswitch system. It involves the design of the module and the description of the function, the interface among the module and the implement of the key technology. The flow chart of the key technology implement is given.Testing is a key part to insure the quality of the service in the softswitch system. Test case design plays a crucial role in the test. It impacts the validity and dependability of the test. Some design methods of writing test case for softswitch is given. And Using this methods, the test case of testing the Dual-homing in the distributed softswitch system is given and the test environment is also given. The result of the test is analyzed at the end of this paper.
