As optical communication technology has been developed,people began to pay more and more attention to all optical communication networks and related technologies.optical communication technology can avoid the limit of the electronic bottlenecks compared with traditional eletrocommunication.It can be further improved the communication speed in optical signal processing.Because of its simple structure,small size and easy integration,the semiconductor optical amplifier is widely used in signal processing in optical networks.In the thesis,both of the simulation and experiment researches of all optical wavelength conversion and all optical logic gate based on SOA will be given.The main research results are as followed:(1)Designed an all optical dense wavelength division multiplexing(DWDM)wavelength conversion system based on SOA XGM effect.The effects of different wavelength on the wavelength conversion efficiency are analyzed by simulation and experiment.(2)Designed an all optical logic XOR gate based on SOA XGM effect.The effect of two kinds of signal light in the same direction and in the opposite direction are discussed.Optimal operating point is obtained through adjustment the signal delay,SOA bias current,EDFA gain and other parameters.Because of the signal degradation caused by SOA,it is difficult to identify the output logic '1',we propose using the input signal of the RZ code.(3)The output logic '0' power is different due to different input combinations in the all optical logic gates based on SOA.We propose a method of increasing the assist light to reduce the power difference of the zero level.On the basis of theoretical analysis,the experimental system is designed.The influence of the optical power and extinction ratio on the zero power difference is discussed by simulation and experiment.
