Due to the small size, high sensitivity and stability and anti-electromagnetic interference, fiber optic sensors based on SPR have been widely employed in the field of biological applications. We proposed two types of fiber optic sensors presented surface functionalization to immobilize the biological sensing elements. The sensors were proposed to detect the IgG.The main contents are as follow:1.Application of biosensors and types of fiber optic biosensors were introduced.2.The theory of D shaped SPR sensors was introduced.Through model simulation by COMSOL software, the thickness of gold film was chose 40-45 nm and residual fiber thickness barely influenced the sensitivity of fiber sensors.3.The results show that the sensitivity of D shaped SPR fiber sensors for refractive index measurement corresponds was high. The antibody-immobilized sensor was used for human IgG detection. The sensitivity of sensor system was 11.881 nm/(mg/ml),and the selectivity of the sensor was also verified.4.We proposed noncore fiber SPR sensor sandwiching a section of noncore fiber between two multi-mode fibers and sputtering the gold film. The sensitivity of noncore fiber SPR sensor was higher than D shaped SPR fiber sensor. And the sensitivity for human IgG was 57.062 nm/(mg/ml),that was higher than D shaped SPR fiber sensor.Selectivity of the sensor was also verified.
