The competition in cell phone application market becomes highly fierce as a result of the rapid development of Internet and information technology.The users tend to seek for applications with better interactive experience rather than taking the function as the only decisive factor.Therefore,enhancing the interactive experience is crucial in creating a sticky application.Commercial illustration(CI)plays a significant role in application user interface(UI)design due to its stylized visual language,creative expression form and diversification.Since the rational and emotional information behind the illustration can be more intuitively and easily caught by users,applications with illustrations thus can better satisfy user's functional,emotional and cognitional requirements and further stand out from the competition with similar products.Through literature reviewing on CI and application UI design,this thesis parses the current existing issues in UI design and analyzes the characters and the design principles of CI in UI design.Furthermore,some distinguished UI design cases are included as samples.By analyzing these samples from the perspective of users in three levels,namely the instinct level,behavior level and the reflective level,the author of this thesis concludes and proposes a new CI-involved UI design concept.This design concept primarily ensures that information can be precisely passed to users and further stresses how CI benefits to UI design.In addition,a new application named 'XI' is developed in this case to fulfill the interaction between theories and the practice,which is of innovative and practical significance.
