Search Engine User Interface Design, Analysis And Research

Ever since the increased use of personal computers, rapid development of internet technology and popularity of broadband networks, search engine is required for more .Now people is able to search for extensive content, including image, audio, video…whatever you want. In the industrial design field of human-machine interaction, the user interface is a place where interaction between humans and machines occurs. Hence, user interface has become one of the most important parts of any program, because it determines how easily you can make the program do what you want, and a powerful program with a poorly designed user interface would have little value.The main objective of this thesis is to make an overview of the challenges related to the search engine user interface. User interface plays a crucial role in user satisfaction while them browsing different websites on net. Most of technological innovations rely on user interface to enhance the technical complexity to match the end user requirements. In this thesis, we try to have a general idea of google.com by reviewing its last 12 years'evolution on user interface design. We discuss the possibility that how far a search engine will reach only by re-design its present user interface. In the end, this thesis gives some suggestion on improvements. Since none of the engines are likely to reach a "perfect" results page, we should expect to see cooler UI in the future.
