A Global Review In The Research Of NIMBY:Status,Trends,and Future Orientations

NIMBY is a opposite attitude toward a certain land use,The facilities which caused NIMBY called NIMBY facility and NIMBY movement refer to the movement caused by NIMBY attitude.This is a great challenge in our world,In China it have inevitable requirement of society to solve this problem because it involved a lot of reasons and become more and more important to social harmony.Risk communication is a new visual angle for NIMBY,In Communication science it is the core to solve NIMBY problem.Through Literature research and Content analysis on Chinese and English libraries.This paper encodes 18 categories and main contents in NIMBY researches to presents the status,trends of global NIMBY researches and examines the limitations in our country.Finally proposes some suggestions for the future research and the future communication researches of NIMBY in China.Our study found that NIMBY researches centered on Europe and USA,spreading to North American,Oceania and parts of Asia.it marked by multidisciplinary,and the main way to solve NIMBY problem is government management.Administrate,experts,companies and residents is the main objects on current researches and content analysis is the main method used in researches.As to NIMBY facilities,there are rapid expanding from traditional facilities such as railways and garbage disposal facilities to social services such as low-cost housing,nursing house and so on.The core issues of neighborhood study include the ethical justice,factors of neighborhood problems,relevant interest groups,governance of neighborhood problems,and the regional characteristics of neighborhood problems.Chinese studies are developing now.The main problems of Chinese researches are the lack of research methods and imbalance between urban and rural attention.According to the existing picture of the neighborhood researches,future researches divided into four parts.
