Under the environment of Computer Supported Cooperative Work(CSCW),the dynamic collaborative relationship refers to the evolution of the structure and cooperative relationship of project members in the process of working together to accomplish the common task. The cooperation relationship is reflected in the participation of people in the same activity. The quality of collaboration has an important impact on project process control in collaborative work, but the existing project management software does not support the display and analysis of collaborative relationships. In order to form an abstract description and visual expression of the dynamic collaborative relationship, and assist project manager to analyze the collaborative relationship, this thesis first summarizes the role-based modeling method and dynamic graph visualization technology. Then,a role-based dynamic collaborative relationship modeling method and an extended Storyline visualization method are proposed to describe the dynamic collaborative relationship. Finally,to explore a suitable visualization for CSCW-oriented collaborative relationship analysis,a task taxonomy is proposed and a comparative evaluation experiment is performed. The main research work of this thesis can be concluded as follows:(1)The current methods for role-based modeling and dynamic graph visualization are summarized and analyzed. The existing role-based modeling methods are summarized. Then the visual presentation of static graph and time characteristics in dynamic graph visualization are classified.Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of the visualization method are analyzed.(2)A dynamic role-based collaborative relationship model is proposed and verified using visualization method.Firstly, the basic elements and basic relationships in the dynamic collaborative relationship model are defined, and the model is summarized in the form of an architecture diagram. Then an extended Storyline visualization is used to validate the model, which includes the visual encoding, layout algorithm, and interaction methods. Finally, the effectiveness and practicability of the model and the extended visualization are verified through the analysis of user study.(3)An evaluation experiment is performed to evaluate the dynamic visualization technology for CSCW.To compare and evaluate the performance of several typical dynamic graph visualization techniques in analyzing dynamic collaborative relationships,a task taxonomy is proposed. Moreover,a task-based user study is designed and implemented based on the task taxonomy. The analysis of task completion time and error rate shows that users can explore the characteristics and changes of collaboration relationships faster and more accurately through node-link graph. And the timeline method has shorter task completion time than the animation method and the small multiples method in performing the duration and overall time-related tasks.
