Along with the development of electronic information technology and informationalization construction, more and more information systems are widely used on the open platform of internet. By using information system, large numbers of users accomplish various and complex collaborative tasks, and so the computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) was born.CSCW which is supported by computer technologies has realized resource sharing, task matching and scheduling of collaborative work. Since there are a large number of users in CSCW system, and the cooperative tasks are usually complex, access control becomes an important research of the CSCW system security.Among the numerous access control models, role-based access control (RBAC) model is the widely used one in CSCW system. Based on the analysis of involved features of CSCW system, this thesis takes an in-depth research in access control technology. For the limitations such as the permission assignment, dynamically customized in RBAC model which is used in CSCW system, an improved RBAC model is proposed and a specific example is been given for validating the model at the end of the thesis. The main object of the research in this thesis can be summarized as follows.1. After analyzing the features, the structure and the interrelated application technologies of CSCW system, and based on the access control requirements of CSCW system, this thesis takes an in-depth analysis and research in access control technology and the access control models which are used in CSCW system.2. After analyzing RBAC model deeply, this thesis sums up the problems of dynamic requirements such as permission assignment and administration in RBAC model which is used in CSCW system.3. In this thesis, role object (RO), static permission list (SPL) and dynamic permission list (DPL) are proposed and explain detailedly to improve the RBAC model. The requirements such as dynamic permission assignment and administration of access control in CSCW system is satisfied by generating the RO and changing the DPL in cooperative work.4. The formalized definition and description of the improved RBAC model has been given, and then the workflow of the model has also been expounded and analyzesd in this thesis.5. The improved RBAC model has been used in the first-stage of new rural cooperation resident public health management platform. The design of the involved tables in database and parts of code which are interrelated to access control in the project have been given at the end of this thesis.
