Non-photorealistic rendering is always an important branch of computer graphics.At present,domestic and foreign research institutions and scholars have successfully performed digital simulation studies on oil painting,watercolor painting,Chinese painting,Chinese calligraphy and paper cutting.However,the research on digital synthesis of Dongba Paintings is rare.Dongba painting is a typical representation of primitive painting art and is the most characteristic painting of the Naxi people.The paper takes Lijiang Dongba painting as the research object,and starts the digital synthesis of Dongba painting from the four aspects such as the line drawing of Dongba paintings,rendering and coloring the line drawing image,simulating the backgrounds by using the texture synthesis technology,and the color transfer simulation of Dongba paintings.The method of digital synthesis of Dongba paintings can be effectively applied to the protection of digital cultural heritage and is a very meaningful supplement for the research of China unique artistic style digital rendering.Based on the characteristics of real Dongba paintings,an interactive digital synthesis method of rendering and coloring the line drawing painting is proposed.It adopts the method of fusing the foreground image and the background image of Dongba painting.The foreground image is obtained by rendering and coloring the line drawing Dongba image.The background image can be a real Dongba painting background or a Dongba painting background image that obtained by a texture synthesis method.The following works is done:1.In order to extracts the main graphic elements,an interactive control points are set to perform the curve.When we got the main outline of the graphic elements,the Dongba painting graphic element library is established.By combining and adjusting the graphic elements,finally the drawing of Dongba painting is completed.2.The paper firstly enhance the outline lines of drawing by performing morphological processing,this method can effectively simulate real Dongba pictograms.Then by using the multi-frequency LIC algorithm based on filling to simulate the point-patch texture in the HSV color spaces.We can obtain a satisfied mixing color effect of Noise-like texture result of Dongba paintings.3.The paper adopts an improved block-based texture synthesis method and obtains a background image of Dongba painting with rich themes.Finally,we realized the simulation of Dongba painting artistic effect by using the method of foreground and background image fusion.4.The paper adopted the two methods of global color transfer and local color transfer to process the digital synthesis map of the Dongba paintings,and realized the color transfer simulation and got the digital composite map which had a same color distribution information with the real Dongba paintings.Finally,the effect of the Dongba paintings is enhanced.The final experimental results show that based on the method proposed in this paper,we can effectively extract and model the main outlines of the real Dongba paintings,and we can freely perform the coloring of the Dongba paintings.Finally,we get a good digital synthesis effect of Dongba Paintings.
