Retrospect,Controversy And Prospect Of 40 Years Of The Localization Of Communication Studies(1977-2017)

Since the late 1970s,the localization of communication studies in China has gradually emerged,and it has increasingly become a research hotspot in the field of communication.after nearly 40 years of development,many scholars in the academic world have participated in this discussion,but the multi-level controversies continue.In order to promote the study of the localization of communication,after clarifying the past,facing the present moment and looking to the future,this article conducts research on this issue.This article use document analysis method,first cut through the vertical dimension,according to different historical contexts and development characteristics,we divide the localization of communication studies in China into three major stages,from the early stage of emphasis on political discourse with ideological opposition motivation to the developing controversial stage of entering cultural level with cultural awareness,and then to the current multi-reflection stage of doping political motivation and accompanying discourse rights.Then we proceed from the horizontal dimension,and focus on several core issues in the localization of communication studies:what is the localization of communication studies,Whether or not to carry on the localization of communication studies,why should we carry on the localization of communication studies,how to carry on the localization of communication studies,then carry on systematically combing and analysis on these viewpoints and arguments of the communication academic community.During this process,aiming at the realization way of the localization of communication studies,We will use the tensions of the world and the region,the West and China as the main focus and elaborate on them.Finally,based on the collation and analysis of a lot of views and arguments,this article puts forward its own opinion and reflection on the localization of communication studies.,First,from the perspective of knowledge theory,carry on multiple reflections on the basic issues of localization research;Secondly,the objectives of the research on the localization of national communication are clearly defined.Third,we must envisage the objective sense of nationality that exists in the localization of communication studies.Then,we proceed the new arrangement and interpretation of several major aspects of the localization of communication studies.Finally,focusing on the research path of the localization of communication studies,we emphasize several important categories such as context,multidimensionality,and interaction,and make a comprehensive interpretation of the Chinese word.We hope that we can review,look forward to,and analyze the 40-year history of the localization of communication studies,and provide some reference for the future research on the localization of communication studies.
