On The Production And Broadcasting Strategy Of Domestic Network Suspense Series Day & Night

In recent years,as the Internet has become more and more influential,more and more TV dramas are not only played on traditional TV platforms,but are also being updated and played on the Internet.The amount of online-video-viewing is increasing,and is even overtaking the viewing amount in traditional TV platforms.Watching TV and watching movies on the Internet has become one of people's daily entertainments.However,due to the high royalties of TV dramas and the limitations of traditional TV dramas,major video websites have joined the rank of producing self-made network dramas.Since 2009,thousands of online self-made dramas with different themes have emerged.The development of self-made network dramas has gradually changed from being vulgarized and homogenized to becoming more professional and specialized.The “Day & Night” of Youku was launched in 2017 as the first drama audited in accordance with the 14 New Deal standards issued by the five national ministries and commissions on the development of TV dramas.It is also the first network drama reviewed in accordance with the TV drama process.The birth of White Night Chase is significant.This TV drama takes a giant step in the history of China's online self-made drama and even in the history of China's TV drama industry.This paper firstly summarize the development of network self-made drama and network self-made suspense drama.Besides,in order to explore the advantages and disadvantages of the drama “Day & Night”,and its implications for China's future self-made drama,this paper will analyze this drama from narrative content,audio-visual language,marketing communications and other aspects,comparing with online self-made dramas,as well as traditional suspense television dramas and other texts.Finally,this thesis prospects the development path and development strategy of China's network self-made suspense drama in the future.
