Research On Information Retrieval Ability And The Influence Factors Of Children In Information Search On Search Engine Based On The Survey In Aceh Indonesia

This study had three main purposes about information retrieval ability of Indonesian children.Firstly,this study discussed information retrieval ability possessed by Indonesian children.Secondly,this study discussed the related factors,such as family support,knowledge and experience of information and communication technology that influence children information retrieval ability.Thirdly,this study discussed the relation between information searchability and children satisfaction in information retrieval.This study is quantitative research and the instrument for this research developed by the researcher on basis of objectives and theoretical framework.The instrument of this research was questionnaires,the following dimensions of the instrument are:demography data profile of children,demography data of family's affecting children on their information search,children's knowledge and experience factors on information and communication technology,family support factor of children in their information search,and children's satisfaction of information retrieval.The survey was conducted on September 2017 to November 2017,in Aceh,Indonesia.Total number of children were 400 who responded from four public elementary school.In this study describe Indonesian children ability in information retrieval,this study found that there is a significant influence on children information retrieval ability and the factors(family support,knowledge,and experience of information and communication technology),also this study found that there is significant correlation between information searchability and satisfaction of children information retrieval.
