Research On Digital Library Resource Synchronization Based On ResourceSync

Nowadays,with the rapid development of information technology,there will be a large amount of new information generated on the Internet every moment.The resources acquired at a certain point in time may become obsolete in the next second.In an environment where information is very time-sensitive,users hope to catch the news of resource changes at the first time.Once new resources are generated,resource users can immediately obtain them.Digital libraries that make use of third-party resources have their digital resources constantly changing,so they need to synchronize their resources in a timely manner.How to make data interaction between these digital libraries and ultimately achieve resource synchronization is of great significance.ResourceSync is a framework specification approved by the American National Standards Institute(ANSI),and can be used to achieve resource synchronization between different systems on the Internet.The analysis of its principle and application in digital libraries can provide references for the practical application in domestic digital libraries.This article first introduces the characteristics of digital resources of digital libraries and digital libraries,and analyzes and studies the resources synchronization of digital libraries from the aspects of synchronization concepts,synchronization types,synchronization principles,synchronization processes,etc.,and then this paper analyzes the basic principles of ResourceSync from three aspects: framework structure,synchronization process,and resource discovery mechanism.Based on this,it proposes methods for synchronizing resources between the ResourceSync framework and mirror sites,resource providers,resource users,resource metadata and original resources in a digital library,and explains three issues that need attention in practical applications and proposes corresponding solutions.Digital libraries can publish or access resource list,resource dump,change list and change dump through three discovery mechanisms supported by ResourceSync.Resource Synchronization between digital libraries and mirror sites,resource providers,resource users or resource metadata and original resources,can be achieved through baseline synchronization,incremental synchronization and audit.
