As the short-range wireless communication,wireless sensor networks was rapid development in industrial control and monitoring applications,smart home,environmental monitoring and farming.Short development cycle,application flexibility and so on is the remarkable feature.Compared to the traditional monitoring methods,wireless sensor networks leave out a lot of wiring work,it just need setting the amount of nodes at monitored zone.Wireless sensor networks canwork in the environment which is not very well,and it has the strong ability of anti-interference.Currently,wireless sensor network applicationis very broad in the area of monitoring.According to the application field and need of development,we selected the ANT protocol that is launched byCanada Dynastream Company,which is anon-standard radio frequency protocol of short distance for the small size,low cost,low power applications.Based on the ANT protocol this paper designed a multi-signal monitoring by wireless sensor networks,it can simultaneously monitor multiple signals.Firstly,according to the system design the paper choose the star network structure which is most popular,it is facilitate to manage the nodes.Secondly,compared with the relatively common types of wireless sensor network protocols in detail,based on the requirements this thesis choose the ANT protocol.Then design thehardware in detailed that including a terminal node and the central node and the MCU.In order to save cost and power consumption the terminal node using Nordic's nRF24AP2-lch,and to manage multiple end nodes,the central node using the nRF24AP2-8ch.MSP430 MCU is used for control and transmission.After design hardware,software is designed for each part of the program,which realized the wireless communication.Then wireless sensor network system is accomplished.Finally,the system was tested.In the last part of this paper,the network and data transmission of the wireless system was tested in experiment,and the results of tests was achieved the desired.Finally,the wireless sensor network system is applied tomonitoring of the environmental of biological experiments box by placing the terminal nodes,the test can monitor temperature,humidity and carbon dioxide concentration.And thenthe paper has analyzed the relationship between thedistance and transmission power.Within the transmission distance of the system is reliable,cost and power consumption is lower than ZigBee,the system has a good prospects.
