Personage TV Program “City Life Recording”-Paragliding Granny

The life of senior citizens is a matter of great concern under the circumstance of aging society in China.The tradition of supporting the aged has been challenged since one-child families are in face of pension problems,the shrink of the extended family and the progress of our society.The concepts of filial piety among generations,supporting and caring for the aged are fading gradually.In the meantime,family members provide less basic life security and warm family comfort than the former generations,even some maltreat the aged and invade their property at some point.Therefore,I am searching for how the aged consider their daily life and psychological state by approaching and exploring their everyday chores.The heroine of Personage TV program “City life recording”—Paragliding granny is Li Jiaxin,near 70 years old,the oldest Chinese Paraglider sports enthusiast.She is a typical old lady with many problems and conflicts within her life.She is full of dream and spirit of challenging herself.She loves making her dream come true and doing everything as long as she can.Unfortunately,she is a true “empty nester”.She spends money lavishly in doing extreme sports from which she benefits pleasure with her friends outside,whereas she receives only more than two thousands yuan pension per month.She does not feel solitude until she come home etc.She is optimistic,open-minded and good at meditating,moreover,she has her own perception of her present living state and other elderly people nearby.I have sensed elderly people's life anew.The thesis interprets the procedure of creating the Personage TV program “City life recording”—Paragliding granny in the following aspects.The first chapter is curriculum study and my creation including fundamental theories and the process of my works.The second chapter is the contents of TV program/show “When You Are old” including the shooting object,composition,structure and the expression of the theme.The aim is to lead to elderly people's common issues and trigger others to reflect on their real problems by displaying Li Jiaxin's life conflicts.The third chapter is the process interpreting audiovisual language and artistic method demonstrated in pre-shooting,latter editing and the integral perfection in details.Chapter four illustrates the innovation and deficiency of the works.
