Nowdays,science and technology is highly developed.Sensor technology plays an important role in the process of scientific experiment and industrial production.Therefore,how to optimize the sensor structure and improve the performance of the sensor has become the focus of research.Before fabricating a sensor,we usually design the structure and size of the model by using the electromagnetic simulation software,and then find the best ruler according to the simulation results of the experimental.HFSS has the function of optimization,which provides a convenient way for us to design the sensor structure and optimize its variables.But it has some limitations that the optimal value obtained by this optimization method maybe the local optimal value rather than the global optimal value,and only one variable can be optimized at one time,so the optimization efficiency is low.However,due to the software is designed with an external interface,designers can write an external optimizer to optimize the structure.Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)is a global optimization method based on cluster intelligence.Compared with other intelligent algorithms,it has the advantages of easy learning,less design parameters and fast calculation speed.Therefore,people often used it to solve some optimization complex problems,such as large-scale,complex structure,Non-linear and non-differentiable.In this paper,we use MATLAB to write particle swarm algorithm,and use library function of hfssapi to write modeling language.The program will automatically start the HFSS software and calculate the model.Finally,the HFSS module will return the result to MATLAB for iteration,looping until the optimal value is obtained.Sensitivity is an important indicator of the performance of the sensor,which is related to the Q value.The higher the Q value means that the higher the sensitivity,the better the performance of the sensor.In this paper,the Q value as the fitness value,in order to get the highest Q value for the purpose of optimizing the sensor.The main contents are as follows:(1)Introducing the typical structure of left-handed materials,expounding the basic principle of PSO algorithm and application of electromagnetic.(2)Designing optimization program by combining MATLAB and HFSS.(3)Using the particle swarm optimization algorithm to optimize opening asymmetric resonance loop,Q-facter increase more than three hundred.(4)PSO algorithm is used to optimize DSRR type multilayer coupling sensor,the transmission coefficient is improved.(5)Using PSO algorithm to optimize Dual-D sensor,improving the sensitivity of the sensor.
