PTN network,as a new generation of mobile bearer network,has entered the stage of large-scale deployment,the PTN networking is more and more complex,the proliferation of the business,and the high-quality requirements of the user,the survivability and reliability of PTN network also need to improve,so the protection technology has become one of an important consideration.The existing linear protection has some shortcomings,the ring network protection technology can make up for it,because of its rich features and characteristics the ring network protection become the important research aspect in the field of PTN network.In the protection of the ring network,compare with Steering protection,Wrapping protection is easier to meet the engineering application requirements of protection switching time is less than 50 ms,Wrapping protection is more widely used than Steering protection.Research on the improvement of Wrapping ring network protection scheme has practical significance,in order to explore how to provide better protection for the bearer network and business.In order to solve the problem of the label maintenance and management for the ring protection which based on G.8132 protocol and the Wrapping protection system,to maintain and manage the ring label is difficult.A improvement ring protection program also based on Wrapping protection is discussed.The pathway creation of the business on ring protection and the business how to choose the route when switching,And the architecture of function modules which realize the ring protection is also introduced,according to the requirements of China Mobile,switching time of the ring protection is tested.It turned out to be that the switching time of the ring protection mechanism could meet the requirements of 50 ms on the engineering application,so it can provide effective network-level protection for bearer service of the packet transport network(PTN).
