With the continuous development of higher education infrastructure and the wide use of information technology,more and more universities takes the construction of video surveillance system as an important components of the“safety campus”and"digital campus" construction.Moreover,with the transition of conventional analog video processing to digital video processing,video system is expected to be combined with the office automation(OA)system,which can play important roles in the computer-aided teaching and even provides direct supports to the efficient campus management.In this thesis,we consider the general situation of Universities in China and the practical requirements of teaching and administration in our college.The ASP.NET technique is adopted for the design and implementation of campus video system.In detail,the main research work and contributions are summarized as follows.First,detailed requirement analysis is conducted for the proposed campus video system,which include design aim,practice requirement,functionality requirement.The system usage example,user administration,video classification,comment administration and system administration are all considered in the design.Campus network is utilized as the network infrastructure for video data transmission.When the system is built,it can offer video service for all the users in campus and some users out of campus with permission.The developed video system is strong in its functionalities,which can provide video surveillence for everywhere in the whole campus,and also considers the practical requirement in the computer-aided teaching.Moreover,its is scalable in functionalities.Second,adopting the techniqe of ASP.NET+SQL server,a campus video system is designed and implemented in the framework of browser/server.The embedded video player and the classification and distribution of video documents are used as examples.It can smoothly play the online video with the dynamic development techniques.Since the system is built on top of the ASP.NET framework,its user interface is friendly.Moreover,this campus video system utilises the third-party video OCX,and online video-on-demanding(VOD)is also realized.It also supports various video coding standards and transmision protocols.Practical test results show that teachers and students in the university can conduct online play,query and download the demanding video resources via the designed campus video system.The user interface is friendly.It can fully meet the requirements of video application.Moreover,the availability and stability of the system are relatively high,and its scalability is flexible.
