Hardware Design And Implementation Of The POE Switch

With the rapid development of smart city,intelligent transportation,smart grid,etc.,the demand for network construction is increasing quickly.The Ethernet switch makes the packet switching to reach the line speed forwarding,it solves the problem of low efficiency of traditional router three layer forwarding,besides,it is practical and inexpensive,so the number of the network increase rapidly and its deploying is also more and more widely in recent years with the development of the network.At the same time,the number of AP device is also increasing,and its deployment is special on location,Data / power cable routing,taking power for equipment is difficulty.Not only consumes manpower and material resources,but also increases the cost and delays the construction time.In this context,POE switch came into being,compared to the ordinary switch,it increases the power supply function.In this paper,the principle of the three POE switch,the characteristics of POE technology,and the principle and method of POE power supply has been investigated.besides,the hardware design of a three Ethernet switch with POE function is presented.The function of each module in the hardware design of the system,the connection of the interface circuit and the thought of the design of the module are described in detail,and are described in detail.And because of the switch deployment position changes from branch of Posts and telecommunications to the area of the corridor,unmanned room,in order to improve network maintenance staff maintenance efficiency and reduce the cost of maintenance,this paper designs three POE switch power-off alarm functions and FPGA online upgrade function.Switch power alarm function makes network management personnel can through the network interface to understand the power supply situation,and FPGA online upgrade function makes the network management personnel can upgrade the switch FPGA in remote through the network,saving the cost of network maintenance and improve the efficiency of network maintenance,providing a convenient for the network personnel to the management of the switch,meanwhile but also make the switch further develop of intelligent direction.
