A Study On The Relationship Between Interpersonal Trust,Loneliness And Mobile Phone Dependence Among Middle School Students

The use of mobile phones by middle school students is very common.According to many media reports,the problem of overuse of mobile phones by middle school students is becoming more and more serious.In China,there are few researches on cellphone addiction focus on middle school students.In this study,618 seventh and eighth grade students were required to finish the ITS,UCLA,MPAI test.To explore the mediating role of loneliness between interpersonal trust and mobile phone dependence.The results are as follows:(1)The earlier middle school students have their own mobile phones,there are dramatic differences in their mobile phone addiction and dimensions,interpersonal trust value,and trust in social phenomena.Every day the longer middle school students use mobile phones,the more they depend on their mobile phones,their dimensions of trust in others,and their sense of loneliness.(2)The score of inefficient dimensions of mobile phone dependence had a significant effect in grade.Eight students' score of inefficient dimensions of mobile phone dependence was higher than grade seven students' score of inefficient dimension of mobile phone dependence.There is also a significant grade effect on the score of the dimension of trust in others in interpersonal trust.The score of the dimension of trust in others in grade seven is higher than that in grade eight.(3)There is a significant gender difference between the total score of mobile phone dependence and the score of inefficient dimensions.The total score of mobile phone dependence and the score of inefficiency are higher for girls than for boys.There is also a significant gender difference in the score of social phenomenon trust dimension in interpersonal trust,with boys scoring higher than girls.(4)The loneliness living with father and mother is weak,the loneliness of middle school students living with one of them is in the middle,and the loneliness of middle school students living without their parents is the strongest.There is a significant difference in loneliness between class leaders and non-class leaders.Students who do not serve as class leaders have a stronger sense of loneliness than those who serve as class leaders.(5)Loneliness play an intermediary role between interpersonal trust and cellphone dependence.
