The Relationship Between College Students' Mobile Phone Dependence And Interpersonal Relationship: The Role Of Communication Ability

In the era of full coverage of the 4G network,the popularity of mobile phone media and the increased functions of mobile phone,that made the college students change their way of life.It made some students rely on mobile phone.This has led to a serious impact on their study life and physical and mental health.Based on the reality,this paper studies the relationship between mobile phone dependence and interpersonal relationships of college students,and discusses the influence of the interaction between the two.In this paper,Mobile phone dependence measurement scale for College Students was revised based on the systematic review of the related theories of mobile phone dependence,interpersonal relationship and communication ability of College Students.Finally,the scale was divided into two dimensions including prominence and withdrawal by the exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis.Upon inspection,the new scale has good reliability and validity,which can be used as a tool for the research of the following.This paper analyzed the characteristics and the relationship of mobile phone dependence,interpersonal relationship and interpersonal skills of college students with some scale as tools.The scale used are Mobile phone use questionnaire for College Students,Interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale,Interpersonal skills scale and Mobile phone dependence measurement scale for College Students.The 871 valid samples were derived from South China Agricultural University(SCAU),Jinan University(JNU),Anhui University of Finance and Economics(AUFE),Anhui Normal University(AHNU),Anhui Science and Technology University(AHSTU),etc.The following conclusions are drawn from the study.The results of this study showed that:1.The main purpose of college students using mobile phones are social and entertainment.The three most used functions are QQ,WeChat and other social networking tools,call and information search.The number of college students using mobile phone more than 5 hours a day are 39.94%,the number of more than 4 years are 28.57%.2.According to the research,there are 57.52%which are dependent on mobile phone.There are 35.25%that performance bad for interpersonal relationship among the college student,And 12.74%of them have serious interpersonal problems.There is 39.27%that interpersonal skills are poor and 2.07%of that is very poor.There was no significant difference about mobile phone dependency among the factors of gender,grade,age,class cadre or not and in love or not.Interpersonal relationships and communication skills are significantly different between the two variables:whether the class is dry or not.Research conclusion:.After correlation test,both mobile phone dependency and interpersonal skills had significant correlation with interpersonal relationship.It was not significant correlation between mobile phone dependency and interpersonal skills.Results of regression analysis showed that the interpersonal skills in between the mobile phone dependency and the interpersonal relationship has significant moderating role.
