In recent years,from the state to the family are very concerned about the aging of the population,China is gradually improving the old-age security measures in response to the problem of aging,economics,demography,sociology and other fields of scholars have carried out corresponding research,how to healthy old-age is also one of the core issues in the study of old age sociology.Encouraging and guiding the social participation of the elderly has become a general consensus of the international community to deal with the aging of the population,and many scholars have also conducted theoretical and empirical research on the participation of the elderly in social activities.On the basis of combing the literatures on the social participation and health of the elderly at home and abroad,this paper studies the effects of social activities on the health of the elderly by the theory of activity,continuity theory and the perspective of active aging,so as to provide policy enlightenment for promoting the health of the elderly.Based on the survey data of the "China SeniorSocial Tracking Survey"(CLASS)project conducted by Peking University in 2014,this paper makes quantitative analysis of the survey data,and combines the data of in-depth interviews in qualitative research to analyze and verify the participation and health-related factors of different types of social activities of Chinese elderly people.This paper is divided into six parts,according to the question,literature review,theoretical reference,empirical analysis,qualitative analysis and other logical order.Introduction is the basic and theoretical part of the full text.Chapters II to V are the core content of the full text,combing the relevant research on social participation and health,putting forward the research hypothesis of this paper,establishing the relevant model through quantitative analysis,and exploring and analyzing the relevant factors affecting the health of the elderly according to the different types of social activity participation.Chapter 6 is the conclusion and discussion part of the whole text.The study found that the participation of different types of social activities has a significant positive impact on the physical and mental health of the elderly,and that participation in social activities is healthier than that of the elderly who are not involved in social activities.Second,there are significant differences in the participation of four types of social activities among urban and rural elderly.This paper holds that the participation of different types of social activities affect the health of the elderly different degrees,so it is necessary for the government,community,family,individual four levels to jointly deal with the aging of the population,through a variety of ways to encourage the elderly to participate in many different types of social activities,on the one hand to improve the physical and mental health of the elderly,on the other hand to promote the elderly mentality change,so that the concept of happy old-age,active old-age into the old life.The innovation of this paper is the innovation of research perspective,this paper combines questionnaires,uses specific quantitative problems,pays attention to the diversity and simultaneousity of social participation activities of the elderly,including both the study of the physical health of the elderly and the study of mental health.The second is the innovation of research methods,based on urban and rural differences,analysis of urban elderly and rural elderly under different types of social activities participation,as well as the impact of social activity participation on the health of the elderly,combined with qualitative data in-depth analysis,to further verify the quantitative analysis of the relevant conclusions.
