A Practical Study On Social Participation Of People With Mental Disorders

As a vital part of the whole system of life and health,the role of mental health is irreplaceable.At present,social and economic situation is developing rapidly.In this high-pressure environment where quality of life is to be pursued,performance is to be pursued,and interpersonal relationship is to be maintained in harmony,people’s understanding of mental health and judgment of mental disorders can no longer be limited in the field of public health,but should take a broad view of the social level to achieve both prevention and treatment.From September 2020 to January 2021,during my internship in X Community Rehabilitation and Spirituality Station for the Mental Disabled,the author found through in-depth contact with the mentally disabled and their families that poverty and unemployment caused by illness are the true portrayal of most of the mentally disabled groups in China,and this situation is particularly severe in rural areas.Most of the people with mild mental disorders have the basic living ability,but they are unemployed at home for a long time.They live a lazy,passive life,lie in bed most of the time,and almost have no social interaction.Based on household survey,personal research interests and current research status,the author attempts to analyze the ways and contents of social work involvement in the social participation of people with mild mental disorders in rural areas from the perspective of empowerment,and to explore the path of socialized rehabilitation of people with mild mental disorders in micro practice and actions.To "Grow through participation" in this study as a core concept,and to "move out first,then go out,and finally integrate into society" as the idea of intervention,weakening the role of social worker as a server,emphasizing the role of supporter and resource coordinator,build a participatory service platform for people with moderate and mild mental disabilities,stimulate the sense of ownership of people with mild mental disorders,emphasize the guide service object for their service,make in to participate in "self-help",in the active participation and positive interpersonal relationships,ability to improve their social participation and mild mental disabilities to realize socialization of recovering.Finally,the author has carried on the reflection and the prospect to this research from the practical process of social work,the main role of social workers,the path of social participation of people with moderate and mild mental disabilities,and the collaborative linkage mechanism of multiple social forces.It is expected to contribute to the social work practice of socialized rehabilitation of people with moderate and mild mental disorders.
