With the development of the times and the popularization of mass media,real life is full of reading materials in the form of combination of pictures and texts.It is especially important to improve students' ability to read pictures and texts.Picture books are a form of children's literature,and the course material with pictures and texts is an invaluable resource for cultivating students' ability to read pictures and texts.The purpose of this research is to understand the current situation of the cultivation of graphic reading ability in primary school Chinese picture book teaching,and to build a framework of elements of picture reading ability training in picture book teaching based on related theoretical foundations and previous studies,and use the element frame in combination with classroom observation to teach high-quality picture books.Observe and analyze,and conduct interviews with primary school Chinese teachers to gain an in-depth understanding of their views on the cultivation of graphic reading.Combined with classroom observations and interviews to find the main problems,propose improvement measures to solve the problems,explore and stimulate students 'interest in picture book reading,and improve students' graphic reading ability.This research adopts the literature method,classroom observation method and interview method.By consulting relevant domestic and foreign literature,this paper summarizes the research status of picture book teaching,picture and text reading and picture and text reading in picture book teaching,and builds on previous research The essential framework of picture and text reading ability training in picture book teaching to ensure scientific research.Subsequently,the classroom observation method was used to select 25 display lessons from previous national primary school picture book courses and teaching seminars,and to arrange 4 lesson records for quantitative and qualitative analysis to understand the actual situation of picture book teaching.Then conduct teacher interviews,select some of the first-line primary school Chinese teachers who have experience in picture book teaching as interview subjects,understand the basic situation of these teachers in picture book teaching,as well as their knowledge and attitude on the training of picture and text reading ability in picture book teaching.Then,based on the problems found in observations and interviews,the countermeasures for improving the teaching of picture books in elementary schools for the cultivation of reading ability of pictures and texts are put forward.The study found that in the current primary school Chinese picture book teaching,most teachers mainly explain the main content of picture book stories,or use picture books as auxiliary materials for literacy,oral expression,writing,and so on.There is little targeted graphic reading ability training.Even if it is involved,it is more casual or not enough.Some teachers affirmed the necessity of cultivating the ability to read pictures and texts in interviews,and expressed that they have the consciousness to cultivate,but they are easy to ignore in practical teaching.The main problems are: single type of picture book selection,incomplete set of picture book teaching goals and inconsistent with actual teaching,teachers' unclear content of picture book teaching,and lack of teaching strategies and methods for the cultivation of reading ability of pictures and texts.According to this situation,the author puts forward some countermeasures to improve the reading ability of picture and text in primary school Chinese picture book teaching,including screening picture book teaching materials according to the training objectives,determining picture book teaching goals according to academic situation and curriculum standards,clarifying the meaning of picture reading,enriching picture book teaching content,Use targeted picture book teaching methods.
