| The Dough Modeling is an ancient handicraft skill of China and receives compliments across the world.This folk art is listed as the Intangible Culture Heritage in China now.The dough is malleable material and can be dyed in many colors,thus the dough modeling is capable of expressing vivid character and materializing creativity.Meanwhile,the dough is easy to manipulate and playful for children,which makes it a jolly exercise for art education of kindergarten.As a traditional handicraft skill of China,bringing it into kindergarten promote the spreading of Chinese culture.As a kind of folk art,teaching children how to sculpture promotes the development of children in many aspects.And both the advantages of teaching dough modeling in kindergarten are in line with the current trend of kindergarten curriculum revolution.Besides,the dough modeling also provides a practical activity to diversify the art education in the kindergarten.This study,based on action research method,is divided into five stages: planning of activity,practice of activity,reflection of activity,redesigning of activity,and second round practice of activity.The applicability of dough modeling is the main focus of this study.The participants are upper kindergarten students of kindergarten C in Kunming.This research report is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 is prelude which contains the background and reviews of this topic,related concepts and definitions,purpose of this research,and the methods of this research.Chapter 2 introduces the preparations of this research.In this chapter,we expound the obstacles of current research,and how to deal with these specific problems during carrying out of activities.Chapter 3 contains description of implementing dough modeling during courses by action research method.We carry out three activities,record and reflect result each of them separately.Chapter 4 is the discussion chapter.We expound the effect of dough modeling as an art education course,the problems during teaching,and speculated reasons and explanations.At last,in chapter 5,we summarized current research and made further suggestions for application of dough modeling in art education of kindergarten. |
