"Bottle biology" is a kind of biological experimental model which takes plastic bottles as materials and makes them into biological related models and experimental devices for the students learning biological knowledge.The study focused on the development of a school-based course,"bottle biology" according to the junior high school biology textbook issued by People's Education Press.The researche was carried out by using the methods of literature,experiment and investigation.The domestic and foreign literatures related "bottle biology" were collected first,and the practicability of the course was analyzed based on the biology textbook,questionnaire survey and paper/pencil test including the school environment,strength of school teachers,students' learning situation and learning willingness in the grade 2,Gaozhuang Middle School,Jinghe New Town,Xixian New District,Shaanxi Province.The goal,developmental idea,content and the organization of the the curriculum were setted in order to establish a complete theory and practice system for the the school-based course of "bottle biology" based on the actual situation of the school and studentsin the junior middle school.Theteaching practice of "bottle biology" course was carried out among 79 students in the grade 2,Gaozhuang middle school,mainly focusing on the biological core accomplishment including life concept,scientific thinking,scientific exploratio " and social responsibility" Teachers of other subjects were invited to participate in the class and filled in the rubric form of curriculum evaluation.The practice of the course was evaluated finally.The students' learning status was analyzed again by questionnaire and paper /pencil test after the implementation of the course.The effect and process of the course implementation and the students' learning process were evaluated and analyzed by comparing the results of the two surveys combining the course evaluation scale and the teaching evaluation scale of "bottle biology".The results showed that the implementation of "bottle biology" made up for the lack of biology experiment course in our school,it met the students' learning requirements to a certain extent,improved students' interest in biology learning,enhanced students' cooperative learning and practical ability,and enriched the biology course resources of the school.
