The Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standard(2011)raises clear and specific requirement on the writing of compositions at the middle school stage.Improving writing ability is an important means to enhance middle school students' Chinese core competencies and the objective requirement on the development of Chinese education.Composition ability is an important ability for students to conduct exchanges,express emotion,meanings and thoughts,and record ideas.The level of composition ability is an important reflection of the level of the comprehensive ability of Chinese.Middle school is an important stage for cultivating students' composition ability.How to cultivate composition ability is also a difficulty in the teaching of middle school Chinese.The author has found in teaching practice that reasons such as the weak basic knowledge of Chinese,negative impact from the thinking of Yi language,the lack of comprehensive Chinese ability,low effectiveness for teachers' composition teaching class,students' weak sense of gain from compositions,and the lack of writing motives are the important reasons for the weak composition ability of Yi nationality students in Baishui Town Middle School.Under the background of basic education curriculum reform,this thesis analyzes the composition ability of students of Yi nationality and its influence factors,and explores the transformation and development of middle school composition classes in Baishui Town.Finally,the thesis proposes that measures such as creating the language environment,breaking through limitation in thinking,improving classroom teaching,optimizing course structure,respecting students' individualities,and arousing interest in expression are the major approaches and measures adopted to enhance the composition ability of students of Yi nationality in Baishui Town Middle School.
