After-school nurseries for primary school students refer to various childcare &education organizations engaging in academic guidance,life care and other meaningful childcare affairs for primary school students who are left on their own after school.The education form of after-school nursery for primary school students in our country has developed for over 30 years since it started in the 1980 s and 1990 s,which solves the problem that primary school students are left on their own after school but faces some problems,such as single childcare content,low quality of childcare teachers and nonstandard management.This paper targets at analyzing the hidden reasons for the existing problems of after-school nurseries for primary school students and proposing countermeasures so as to improve the current status of after-school nurseries for primary school students.Based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and theory of cooperative education,the author used literature method,observation method and interview method to conduct research.Combined with abundant documents,the author formulated reasonable observation schedule and interview outline to carry out related research mainly from five perspectives of form of after-school nursery,childcare content,environment of after-school nursery,teaching staff of after-school nursery and childcare effect.Based on multiple observations of five representative after-school nurseries for primary school students in D City and combined with the interviews with 4 managers,5childcare teachers,5 parents and 10 students,the author got to know the current status of after-school nurseries for primary school students,found out existing problems,explored the corresponding reasons and proposes countermeasures.This research was compose of six parts:Part I was introduction,involving proposal of the research topic,research significance,domestic and overseas research overview,theoretical foundation and definition of related concepts.Part II introduced the research methods.Part III analyzed the observation and interview results to know the current status of after-school nursery for primary school students.Part IV pointed out the existingproblems and analyzed corresponding reasons.Part V proposed countermeasures based on the above analysis.Part VI made summary and reflection,and pointed out research innovations.
