Practical ability is the ability basis for individuals to participate in practical activities,solve practical problems,and achieve comprehensive development.It is the basic goal of basic education curriculum reform,and it is also the value appeal of cultivating students' core literacy.Among them,the junior middle school stage is the key period for the development of students' practical ability,which determines the development level of the individual's later practical ability.Therefore,it is necessary to give special attention and effective cultivation to the development of junior middle school students' practical ability in the basic education.However,the current junior middle school education in China is inefficient in cultivating students' practical ability.The specific performance is that the cultivation of junior middle school students' practical ability is neglected,and there is no correct theoretical guidance and solid research support in the training process.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to strengthen the basic theoretical research on the practical ability of junior middle school students.Based on this background,this study identified four specific research objectives:(1)to clarify the connotation,development characteristics and structural composition of practical ability;(2)to compile the junior middle school students' practical ability assessment scale;(3)to apply the scale to investigate the status of junior middle school students' practical ability training;(4)to propose scientific and effective training strategies based on the results of scale analysis.In order to present more scientific,credible and comprehensive research results,this research combines qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis regarding junior middle school students as research subjects,and comprehensively uses methods such as literature analysis,questionnaire survey,expert consultation and statistical analysis.The research processes and conclusions are as follows:(1)Through the literature analysis method,the connotation and development characteristics of practical ability are clarified.Based on the pedagogical standpoint,the“practical ability” is defined as: the psychological characteristics and behavioral characteristics that individuals must possess in order to successfully solve practical problems in practical activities.The developmental characteristics of junior middle school students' practical ability include practicality,acquisition,explicitness,situationality,comprehensiveness,and rapid development.(2)According to the theory of brain function system,the junior middle school students' practical ability structure is constructed as a model with four first-level indicators and nine second-level indicators.And then,the first and second indicators were demonstrated and corrected through the expert consultation method,and the structural model containing 4 first-level indicators and 10 second-level indicators were determined,which is the foundation of the forecast assessment scale.190 students in junior middle school were tested by forecast assessment scale in advance,and the 190 data identified the formal assessment scale and structural model which includes 4first-level indicators(practice motivation,practice cognition,practice emotion and practice behavior)and 11 second-level indicators(internal motivation,external motivation,knowledge construction ability,matching analysis ability,tacit knowledge acquisition ability,meaning evaluation ability,emotion perception ability,interpersonal communication ability,execution ability,management and coordination ability,reflection ability)through the project analysis,reliability test and validity test.500 formal assessment scales were distributed,and the confirmatory factor analysis was used to verify the scientific characteristics of junior middle school students' practical ability structure through AMOS24.0 software tools.And the factor analysis method was used to calculate the weight of the first-level indicators.After calculation and standardization,the proportion of the 4 first-level indicators(practice motivation,practice cognition,practice emotion and practice behavior)in practical ability is0.2:0.27:0.28:0.25.(3)The self-developed junior middle school students' practical ability assessment scale with good reliability and validity was used to conduct on 500 junior middle school students.The basic situation and problems of the current junior middle school students' practical ability development were preliminarily grasped,and this research proposes educational strategies from five aspects which includes practice motivation,practice cognition,practice emotion,practice behavior and overall planning for significantproblems.
