With the deep attention of the state in the construction of the teaching staff in recent years,the adaptation of new teachers in the education and teaching work has also attracted widespread attention.At the same time,among the new teachers,teachers who work as head teachers occupy a considerable proportion.The head teacher plays a unique role in primary and secondary education.In recent years,the state has paid great attention to the work of the head teacher.Due to my professional characteristics and the fact that it is very likely to become a head teacher in the future,which have aroused my intense research interest in this topic.I hope to have a deeper understanding of the work of the head teacher through this research.This paper uses reference to the domestic literature on new teacher adaptation and head teacher work,combined with adaptation theory,teacher career cycle theory,self-determination theory and other related theories,using questionnaires and interviews and other research methods,from the post of primary school teacher.The understanding,the willingness to serve,the salary satisfaction,the daily work adaptation,the difficulty of work,and the self-evaluation of the new post of the head teacher in the primary school are all trying to reflect the reality of the new school head teacher's job adaptation in a more comprehensive and objective manner.The author found from the survey results that although most of the respondents believe that they have basically adapted to the position of the head teacher,there are still some confusions and deficiencies in some specific work processes.On this basis,the author combines questionnaire survey with individual teacher interviews to analyze the factors affecting the adaptability of the new head teacher.Specifically,it mainly includes these five factors: the pre-service head teacher has insufficient practical experience and actively undertakes the work of the head teacher.The enthusiasm is not high,the training of the head teacher is not sufficient after the job,the work pressure of the head teacher is heavy,and the self-psychological adjustment ability of the head teacher is weak.In view of the factors affecting the adaptability of the new head teacher,based on the opinions and directions of the national education authorities on the construction of the teaching staff,several suggestions were made on how to improve the adaptability of the new head teacher,that is,to provide more jobs for the new teachers.Opportunities for pre-educational practice,strengthening the emphasis on the training of new head teachers,dedicating to improving the overall quality of the new head teacher,appropriately reducing the workload of the new head teacher,and organizing new teachers to reflect and summarize.It is expected to provide some reference for the new head teachers in primary schools to improve the adaptability of their jobs.At the same time,it reflects and summarizes the shortcomings in the paper,hoping to be the direction of my own efforts in future study and work.
